Marie of Sweets IndeedA little background about yourself and/or your company.

I started Sweets Indeed in 2009 as a boutique catering company specializing in custom candy and dessert stations. Since then, we’ve launched several sweet treats including Sour Lolli’s and Candyfetti™ and are now candy manufacturers!

When did you first start working with/giving to Operation Shower?

I think it was back in 2011 when Amy contacted me and asked if I’d donate candy kabobs for a shower. Of course I said yes and since then, I’ve been hooked!

Why did you chose Operation Shower as a way of giving back?

My grandfather and dad are both veterans and both of my brothers-in-law are currently serving. As a mom myself, I can only imagine how hard it must be to have babies and raise a family in the midst of dealing with deployments. I think it’s amazing that these moms and families are surrounded by people who care for and appreciate them during one of the most monumental times in their lives. Plus, who doesn’t love a fantastic baby shower?

What does giving back to military families through Operation Shower mean to you/your company?

It’s just a small way that I/we can say thank you and express our support.

Sweets IndeedWhat has been one of your favorite memories of working with Operation Shower?

I love seeing all the volunteers get just as excited about handing out gifts as the moms do when they receive them. The look (and tears) on the moms faces as they’re surprised with not only a beautiful baby shower but all the gifts they’re given, is priceless. Not to mention I get to cuddle the occasional newborn.

If you could say one thing to military moms and families, what would it be?

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for sacrificing so much for the rest of us. Remember there is a huge community of people out there who care about you and your families. We’re here to help in any way we can!
