Baby Be Mine
Celebrating military moms is something we live for at Operation Shower! That’s why our Baby Be Mine shower was a perfect theme for these expecting military families. Taking place at the TPC River Highlands, this shower was sponsored by ConnectiCare, with support from Birdies for the Brave, Travelers, Travelers Championship and Carousel Designs. The day was a celebration of all the babies who were gracing the loving arms of our mommies-to-be, and included the Naval Submarine Base New London and the Connecticut National Guard.
Our special guest for the day was maternity designer and MomPrep parent education provider, Rosie Pope. Pope has starred in her own Bravo reality show, Pregnant in Heels. It showcased her helping expectant mothers do everything; from choosing a maternity wardrobe to teaching moms about making their home safe for children. We can’t think of a better speaker to help guide our military mommas on the first step of motherhood. A close friend to Operation Shower, Jim Furyk also came and spoke words of wisdom and love to our moms!
The Excitement is All (Mine)
The beautiful Baby Be Mine graphics were designed by Paper & Cake and took on a garden theme with hues of pinks and green; it was all accented with beautiful florals by Pentimento Design. Once again, Nancy Goldstein was instrumental in coordinating the efforts of our volunteers to make the day beautiful. Boppers created a fantastic photo booth and drape for our dessert table. Amazing Balloon Décor provided a stunning balloon arch outside for moms to make a grand entrance and columns on stage to decorate the day. Chase Canopy donated linens and dishware for the day so our moms could dine in style.
What’s a baby shower without gifts?! Cosco presented moms with a car seat for safe travels and space saver high chairs. 4moms bath helped us with bath items. Rosie Pope generously gifted moms with presents and gift cards were provided by Picaboo and Babies R Us.
