In March, we teamed up with COUNTRY Financial and the St. Louis Blues Better Halves to shower 33 military moms from the Army and Air Force with a vintage-themed shower.
My Vintage Garden
Designs created by Small Moments and gorgeous lace overlays from Oriental Trading set the stage for our beautiful, vintage tea party. Our host for the event was Debbie Monterrey from local radio station, KMOX. Upon arrival, our moms took fun keepsake photos with Fish Eye Fun; The Carrying On Project was also there to greet them. Casey Strong from COUNTRY Financial presented our moms with the gifts that her company and the St. Louis Blues collected for military families. Girl Scout Troop #3646 also gave back to support our military families and were there to share in the day.
We were able to again partner with the stunning Peabody Opera House and they provided such a delicious meal. Sweet desserts were provided by local bakeries Piccione Pastry and Harter Bakery; our longtime supporters Creating Awesomenessity, Anna Shea Chocolates, and Firefly Confections also donated their talents.
Joy is Never Vintage
Vintage or modern, every shower has to have games! Our moms played for the chance to win lots of incredible prizes. These included items such as a Sound Bub from WavHello, Carousel Design bedding and gifts from 4moms. If that wasn’t generous enough, Glory Photography donated a Newborn or Baby Photo Session to help our moms document pictures of their littles for their deployed loved ones. Kendra Scott was also there to show our moms some much deserved pampering with their beautiful gifts. For one special mom, they doubly surprised her with a genuine diamond necklace! (see the picture of the smiling mom below!)
In addition to the prize winners, every mom at the shower received our signature Shower In A Box, full of gifts from the wonderful community and businesses who gave back to the military families. We were able to provide much needed items for 35 babies…we showered 2 sets of twins!
Special thanks to McGuire Moving & Storage as they were instrumental in helping us to get all of the items to the shower so we could make this day so special for our military families.
