Tis the sea-son to throw another awesome baby shower in Cromwell, Connecticut for 40 expecting military moms! We dived into another amazing shower sponsored by ConnectiCare® at the Travelers Championship with support from Travelers and Birdies for the Brave. All of our expecting mommas are either spouses of deployed members of Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, the Connecticut National Guard or the Westover Air Reserve Base, or in some cases, are active duty themselves. Safe to say every mom enjoyed a little beach therapy!
Friend to Operation Shower, Rosie Pope, helped us out once again as our guest host for this special day. As a celebrated “mompreneur” and overall mommy guru, Rosie answered parenting questions for the moms-to-be as well as guided everyone through some fun games where everyone was excited to win. Always prepared, Rosie knows how to make things fun!
Hidden treasures
What’s a baby shower without gifts? Well our moms didn’t go home empty handed nor disappointed as there were lots and lots of gifts to be had. With everything from our signature “Showers in a Box” to a baby stroller, each mom went home well equipped for their upcoming little one. Thank you to KIDBOX, Travelers, Playtex Baby, Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and 4moms for your generous donations.
And, a big thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers that we love seeing year to year. We look forward to your returning faces and couldn’t pull off this shower without your support and willingness to help show these moms how much we care. Thank you, thank you!
