In collaboration with PRO EM National Event Services, we hosted our 9th annual baby shower at the Waste Management Phoenix Open (WMPO)!
PRO EM National Event Services Principal Brady Castro said, “We are happy to join with Operation Shower and The Thunderbirds to show our appreciation to these courageous military moms-to-be with this unique drive-through shower. Their service and sacrifice for our country deserve to be recognized, and we are delighted to do that while taking every safety precaution possible to ensure their health and well-being.”
Things might have looked a little differently this year but it was no less joyful! We are so grateful for the team at the WMPO and PRO EM National Event Services for helping create a special drive-through baby shower for 30 military moms-to-be from local military bases.
“We’re excited to show our appreciation to these courageous moms-to-be, especially given the current environment,” said 2021 WM Phoenix Open Tournament Chairman Scott Jenkins. “Operation Shower is an outstanding opportunity to support local military families and help honor their service and sacrifice to our country, and we are happy to be able to do this again in 2021, even with a different look.”
During the “Parade of Love”-themed event, all of the moms were showered with gifts – including Operation Shower’s signature Showers In A Box. Each mom also received other special gifts for mothers and babies from companies including Kendra Scott, Pediped and Basq. And, always there to lend support with donations of gifts and teamwork are our supporting sponsors of the event: Discover, Palo Verde Generating Station, The Mahan Foundation and Birdies for the Brave.
A true highlight of this event is the enthusiasm and help from The Thunderbirds Charities and this year was no exception. Something about a parking lot, Arizona Sound Music Force, and some pom poms really gets the Thunderbirds grooving and cheering on military moms! When you add in over the top adorable decor from Parties on Purpose, Deco Ink Designs and Luz Balloons you have the cutest parking lot in Arizona! Our military moms deserve nothing less than the best.
