On Sunday, March 10, 2024, celebrating its 50th anniversary, THE PLAYERS Championship joined Operation Shower to host a group baby shower for 50 military moms and moms-to-be. The adorable “OH, Baby!” themed shower was held in Ponte Vedra, Florida. All of the moms are either active duty themselves, or the partner of a deployed or active duty service member from area bases.
This was Operation Shower’s 200th shower and the celebration included a delicious lunch buffet by Outback Steakhouse, raffles, guest speakers, and the highlight of the shower, the distribution of Operation Shower’s signature “Showers In A Box” – gifts of high-quality products for mothers and babies that sponsors and individuals including THE PLAYERS Championship, The Jim and Tabitha Furyk Foundation, Comcast, Optum, Morgan Stanley, Diaper Genie, Chicco and Delta Children have generously donated.
“Operation Shower was created to honor military families who are experiencing pregnancy during deployment, which can be both exhilarating and incredibly challenging,” said Operation Shower Founder and Chief Shower Officer LeAnn Morrissey. “We are thrilled to provide an opportunity for these courageous moms to celebrate this exciting milestone while sharing camaraderie with other military women.”
