On September 30, we had a blast throwing a “Apple Of Our Eye” baby shower for 35 core-ageous military moms and moms-to-be with our repeat presenter, Discover! At the lovely Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, AZ, the afternoon was ripe with laughter, connection and community as these women, either the spouses or partners of deployed service members or active-duty themselves, joined us in celebrating them and their new seedlings on the way.
The event kicked off with a bushel of fun as moms enjoyed a delightful catered brunch, fun games, and a raffle with apple-solutely amazing prizes. Guest speakers made the celebration all the more fruitful with heartfelt and inspiring words! Of course, the highlight was seeing the moms receive Operation Shower’s signature “Shower-In-A-Box.” These fantastic gift boxes were packed with high-quality items for both moms and babies, generously donated by companies like Discover, Diaper Genie, Angelcare, Dr. Brown’s, Babbleroo, Delta Children, Albertsons, and Happiest Baby.
As one of twenty-four Operation Shower events planned this year, Discover continues to branch out in its commitment to supporting military families as it helps us show our love and appreciation. Here’s to all the incredible military moms whose strength and courage keep us rooted in admiration and gratitude!
