Underscoring its longstanding support for our military and Operation Shower, Discover presented 30 military expectant women with a group baby shower in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 25, 2022 . All of the moms were the spouses or partners of deployed military members from area bases, or in some cases, were active duty military members themselves.
The first Operation Shower event hosted in the state of Utah, the “Little Rays of Sunshine”-themed event featured a catered lunch, raffle prizes, and the highlight of the event, the distribution of Operation Shower’s signature “Showers In A Box”— gifts of high-quality products for mothers and babies that were generously donated by companies and individuals including Discover, Delta Children, 4moms, Evenflo, Mud Pie and Serta.
“Volunteerism is a key value at Discover, and our employees look forward to working with Operation Shower to create an event that will support the military community,” said Dani Worrell, Community Affairs at Discover prior to the event.
Operation Shower loved working with the Discover volunteers and their entire team to make this an event to remember for so many deserving military families! We can’t wait to return and continue honoring Utah military families!
Asked what she wanted to say about the event, one mom shared:
“I just want to thank you to EVERYONE who made this event possible. As a 3rd time momma, who never had a shower before this one, I was completely overwhelmed (in such a wonderful way) with the amount of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness from everyone there. Just being thought of + knowing there’s people out there who understand the difficulty pregnancy brings for some women is endearing. It makes me feel like I’m not alone and I can do anything!”
“I’m not alone and I can do anything!” That is exactly what we were hoping to make every mom feel !
Thank you, Discover!
