The best way to end 2024 was with 21st baby shower that was rescheduled do to Hurricane Milton. As you can imagine, everyone involved was excited to be a part of this celebration and finally meet on December 10th!
The Tampa Bay Lightning made it possible for Operation Shower to shower 20 military moms and moms-to-be at the new Market on Four at Amalie Arena.
Emmy Award-winning journalist and ABC Action News Anchor Deiah Riley served as the event’s emcee and was an absolute delight. She made everyone feel welcome and as though she were your best friend.
“The Countdown is On!”-themed event included a delicious catered lunch, raffles and contests with prizes. Our guests of honor received Operation Shower’s signature Showers in a Box – gifts of high-quality products for mothers and babies that have been donated by generous companies, including the Lightning, Stella & Dot, Romp & Roost, Diaper Genie, AngelCare, and Joie. Beyond the array of tangible items the moms will receive, the moms will enjoy the priceless gift of sharing camaraderie with other women who are also experiencing motherhood during military service.
“It’s an honor to celebrate these military moms and moms-to-be who give so much in service to our country,” said Elizabeth Frazier, executive vice president of community development and social impact and executive director of the Lightning Foundation. “The Tampa Bay Lightning deeply value the military and their families, and we are proud to support them through events like this that bring joy, camaraderie, and recognition for their sacrifices. It’s a meaningful way for us to show our gratitude and support for those who serve.”
