For the 10th year, PepsiCo partnered with Operation Shower to host a group baby shower for 35 military moms and moms-to-be in Colorado. The event was held on Wednesday, September 25th at Weidner Field in Colorado Springs. All of the attending moms are active-duty military members or the spouses or partners of active duty or deployed members of Fort Carson, Peterson Air Force Base, Schriever Air Force Base, and other local military bases. Award-winning journalist Brie Groves, who co-hosts KOAA’s News5 Today, served as the event’s emcee and guest host.
Presented by PepsiCo with support from the Colorado Springs Switchbacks, the “Most Magical Shower On Earth”-themed event will include a catered lunch, raffles, and contests with prizes. Guests will also receive Operation Shower’s signature Showers in a Box – gifts of high-quality products for mothers and babies that generous companies including PepsiCo, Delta Children, Diaper Genie, Angel Care, and Phil Long Ford have donated. Beyond the array of tangible items the moms will receive, the moms will have the opportunity to share camaraderie and meet other women who are also experiencing motherhood.
Since 2015, PepsiCo and Operation Shower have showered nearly 400 military moms-to-be from the Colorado Springs area.
“PepsiCo has a long legacy of supporting America’s military families, and we are delighted to join with Operation Shower and the Colorado Switchbacks in showing our tremendous gratitude to all of the amazing moms being honored at this special shower,” said Shawn Early, Senior GM Market Director, PepsiCo Beverages North America, West Division. “It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to recognize military moms and families and thank them for the immeasurable sacrifices they make in service to our country.”
