On February 21, we were awestruck by the 25 radiant military moms-to-be at our “Once Upon A Rhyme” group baby shower at PGA National Resort & Spa’s British Ballroom in Palm Beach, FL! Presented by Nicklaus Children’s Health System, with the generous support of Pratt & Whitney as well as the Cognizant Classic, we were thankful to honor the courage of these women—all spouses or partners of deployed military members from local bases or active-duty service members themselves—as they turn the first page of their next storybook adventure.
Our emcee, broadcast meteorologist Jennifer Correa, kept the rhythm of this event flowing smoothly with lots of laughter and smiles all around! Complete with a lovely catered lunch, fun activities with fabulous prizes, exciting giveaways, and heartfelt inspirational speakers, the day was the perfect setting for connections and community to form and last far beyond the last chapter.
Of course, our favorite moment of the afternoon, which never gets old, was watching each mom open Operation Shower’s signature Shower-In-A-Box! Our thoughtfully curated gift boxes were filled with high-quality treasures and necessities for both mom and baby, donated by generous companies including Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, Frida Baby, Diaper Genie, Mamazing, Angelcare, My Little Zone, Pratt & Whitney, Cotton Bottom and Chicco.
“We are excited to join with Operation Shower and the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches to provide these extraordinary moms and moms-to-be with an opportunity to celebrate this wonderful milestone together,” shared Matthew Love, Nicklaus Children’s Health System President & CEO. “Whether they are serving abroad or keeping everything running smoothly at home so their loved ones can proudly serve our country, we owe these amazing women a tremendous debt of gratitude.”
