Capes weren’t required, but there was no shortage of superheroes at Operation Shower’s recent “Super Mom” group baby shower in Groton, Connecticut. In partnership with the Travelers Championship, Operation Shower honored 20 extraordinary military moms-to-be, including active-duty service members and the spouses and partners of deployed military members from the National Guard, Naval Submarine Base New London, and surrounding military communities.
The superhero-themed celebration was filled with laughter, connection, and well-deserved pampering. Moms enjoyed a delicious brunch, fun shower games, prizes, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate this exciting chapter of motherhood alongside others who understand the unique journey of military life.
As always, every Super Mom in attendance received an Operation Shower’s signature Shower-In-A-Box, packed individually for each mom with thoughtful gifts to help welcome their newest little sidekick. These special gifts were made possible through the generosity of the Travelers Championship, Travelers, Diaper Genie, Angelcare, Delta Children, Hang the Moon, and Joie.
While superheroes may not always wear capes or a mask, they do wear military uniforms, support their families through deployments, and prepare to welcome new babies with strength, courage, and love. We were honored to celebrate these incredible moms and remind them that they are the true heroes of their growing families.
