What a heartwarming day at UBS Arena! Operation Shower and presenting sponsor The Islanders Children’s Foundation joined forces to host a special baby shower for 25 incredible military moms-to-be with support from Ryan Tax. All these amazing women are either active-duty service members or partners of deployed members from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New York National Guard, and the U.S. Coast Guard.
“We are proud to host this special baby shower for military moms-to-be, honoring their incredible strength and sacrifice,” said Ann Rina, Executive Director of Community Relations for the Islanders. “It’s a privilege to celebrate these women and welcome their little ones into the family with love and support.”
This beautifully decorated blue and orange hockey-themed shower unfolded on Wednesday, March 12th, featuring the dynamic emceeing of Islanders in-game hosts Sofia Davis and Andrew “Syke” Sykora from WBLI. The celebration came alive with Sparky, the beloved Islanders Mascot, and the dedicated Islanders Wives Group, who joyfully distributed raffle gifts alongside Operation Shower’s signature Shower In a Box while guests savored a delicious catered lunch. Each thoughtfully customized box was filled with premium products for military moms and their little ones, generously donated by the New York Islanders, Ryan Tax, Joie Baby, Diaper Genie, Delta Children, AngelCare, Skip Hop, Blue Star Families, and Stella & Dot.
