PepsiCo, the Dallas Cowboys, and Optum Serve helped to bring a day of joy to 20 military moms and moms-to-be on Saturday, November 5, when they hosted an Operation Shower® group baby shower in their honor. The event was held at the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters at The Star in Frisco.
Multiple Emmy Award-winning CBS 11 news anchor Doug Dunbar served as emcee. Doug’s support for members of our armed forces and their families is very personal; he lost his father, U.S. Army Sgt. First Class Clarence Dunbar, in Vietnam.
The “A Star is Born”-themed event, designed by Hostess with the Mostess, also had a very special guest – a real Dallas Cowboys star and legend – Drew Pearson. The original #88 presented each mom with a personalized jersey and shared his gratitude for our military families.
“The men and women of our military deserve all the support that we can provide,” said Charlotte Jones, Dallas Cowboys executive vice president and chief brand officer. “The Dallas Cowboys are excited to partner with PepsiCo and Optum Serve to celebrate these extraordinary women and their families, who sacrifice so much in service to our country. Whether they are serving on the front lines or keeping everything running smoothly at home, military moms deserve to be honored for everything they do to help keep America safe and free.”
Along with our signature Showers In A Box – moms were surprised with gifts including Kendra Scott, PepsiCo, Optum Serve, Delta Children, Skip Hop, 4moms and more!
“PepsiCo has a long legacy of supporting America’s military families, and we are delighted to join with Operation Shower, Optum Serve and the Dallas Cowboys in showing our tremendous gratitude to all of the amazing moms being honored at this special shower,” said PepsiCo Global Integration Manager for E-Commerce Dan Luby. “In the military, families serve too. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to recognize the resilience, strength, courage and patriotism of these women and thank them for the immeasurable sacrifices they make.”
“As a veteran and military mom, I can attest to the strength, perseverance and pride of our military. Optum Serve is honored to join the Dallas Cowboys and PepsiCo in recognizing our military families. Those who serve and those who support our service members are owed a debt of gratitude from a grateful Nation,” said LTG (Ret.) Patricia D. Horoho, CEO of Optum Serve.
