Military moms missing out on their baby shower? No problem. Pandemic limiting social interaction? No problem. Constant rain in the forecast? No problem. These are just a few of the challenges faced when trying to plan Operation Showers’ very first drive-thru baby shower and we were up for the task
Not only did our new friends at WestRock graciously sponsor 29 Virginia expecting military moms-to-be to a unique baby shower, but supplied volunteers to help make the event a success. A first since the pandemic started and we were so excited to see people again! Masked up and ready to celebrate, our guests drove through a celebrated pick up line where they were each given special gifts like Noodle & Boo and Hazen Jewelry. Grateful to be able to continue our mission and spoil our guests, volunteers then filled each mom’s trunk with their Shower in a Box, a Crane humidifier and a Chicco Booster Seat. It was like a “party in the back”!
Thanks go to the gang at WestRock, our friends with Birdies and the Brave and all the other wonderful volunteers who offered up their time to help make the day a success. We can’t wait to see each and every one of you again someday!
