Farmingdale, NY – Our beautiful moms, who are the spouses of active duty or deployed members of the New York National Guard and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, were treated to an artistic display of creativity at The Little Works of Art themed shower!
The shower was put on by The Barclays and Birdies for the Brave and emceed by Rosie Pope at Bethpage State Park. Pope is the founder of the Rosie Pope Maternity lifestyle brand and MomPrep, a parent education and maternity concierge service which helps expecting and new moms find solutions to the challenges of motherhood. Command Sergeant Major Patrick Alston, former Command Senior Enlisted Leader for United States Strategic Command, and his wife, Felicia, also attended and guest hosted the shower.
Kindness is an Art
“Operation Shower was created because typically military moms are the ones who hold it all together at home,” said Morrissey. “Without their spouses by their side, deployed to another part of the world, these moms deserve our support, our thanks, our love, and an opportunity to celebrate together. We are very appreciative to Barclays for its generosity and long-standing support for military families.”
The “Little Works of Art”-themed shower was truly a team effort! It was a “table design” shower, which meant that different designers came out and shared the art of their trade, customizing tables for groups of moms to have a unique and memorable experience. Many thanks to Bonito Design & Events, Save The Date for Cupcakes, Gabriela Events LLC, Simply Divine Event Decor, Two Roses’ Events, L.A. Productions Events and The Huestudio + Company for sharing your art with our moms; they received a special treat from each team who designed the table just for them!
Our guests were treated to lots of games, raffle prizes, and (of course) the presentation of our signature “Shower In A Box!” They had the opportunity to win bedding sets from Carousel Designs, curated gifts baskets, and great gifts from 4moms. The Shower in a Box came full of items that were just what baby needed: handmade blankets, pacifiers, onesies, a car seat canopy, hand-knitted hats, designer diaper bags, and much more!
The beautiful graphics were designed by Bonito Design & Events and set the stage for the most colorful baby shower we could have asked for! The smiles and laughter were even more vivid than the decor that we presented. It was a great day for everyone involved. To see all of the love that these moms had for their babies was a charming sight to see. To see even more photos of the day, taken by Images By Berit, visit the album here.
