What do you get when you mix 20 military moms and moms-to-be, 90’s hip-hop music, hockey, out-of-this-world gifts, and delicious sweets? An Ice Ice Baby-themed group shower that was out of control with joy and laughter!
We had the best time at this group baby shower on Monday, October 23rd with our first-time sponsor the Tampa Bay Lightning. This extraordinary celebration was held at Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay, Florida. All of the moms and moms-to-be are the spouses or partners of deployed military members from area bases, or in some cases, are active-duty military members themselves.
The lovely, WFLA.com’s sports reporter Gabby Shirley served as the event’s guest host and emcee. Gabby was a delight and made sure everyone felt welcome.
There was a catered lunch, amazing desserts, raffle prizes, and the highlight of the event, the distribution of Operation Shower’s signature “Showers In A Box”— gifts of high-quality products for mothers and babies that have been generously donated by companies and individuals including Stella & Dot, Vtech, Chicco, Babycycle Diaper Bank, Diaper Genie, SRG, Delta Children, and the Tampa Bay Lightning Wives.
We can’t wait to team up with the Tampa Bay Lightning organization again next year to shower even more expectant military families with support and love.
