They say there is a first for everything. This is one first we never expected. Together with Milan Custom Homes, The Valspar Championship and Birdies for the Brave, we had a fabulous group baby shower planned at the Innisbrook Resort for March, 14, 2020. However, as COVID-19 began to really take shape in the States, on March 12th we made the difficult decision to cancel the shower for the safety of everyone involved. But that’s just the beginning of the story…
With the gifts already at Innisbrook and the moms ready to be celebrated, our dedicated team member, LeOra, went to the site and repackaged and labeled all of the gifts so that we could ship them to each mom. We love our military moms “To the Moon and Back” and were committed to show them in whatever way we could. Special thanks to Lauren of Ten23 Designs for helping with this task!
Over the next few days moms were greeted at their doorsteps with an abundance of gratitude in the form of fabulous gifts including: their Shower in a Box, Infant Optics baby monitor, Playtex Gift Sets, Valspar Paint, and a Peg Perego High Chair. Talk about a fun delivery day!
Thank you notes started coming in and it was clear the moms were blown away! We are so grateful for the entire team for helping to make sure we still gave these moms an out of this world experience. As we were all just beginning the days of uncertainty ahead, this was such a welcome moment to celebrate their babies on the way!
“I’m not sure that I can put into words how thankful we are for the amazing gifts you sent to us. While I’m sure the event would have been wonderful I’m happy that everyone didn’t see me crying as I opened all of the boxes! One gift really stood out to me and it was the first thing I pulled out… a little plush doll with bumble bees. We have the same doll as a “lovie” that we were planning for our daughter Penelope to give the baby as a gift when they first meet. I know there was no way of you knowing that and to me it was a little “sign.” Everything was incredible from the beautiful handmade items to the clothes and of course the diaper genie, high chair, monitor and faucet temperature reader. What you do for families is amazing and I hope you and your team knows the true impact you have on everyone. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!”
