We couldn’t be more in love with this year’s Sea of Love-themed group baby shower with our sponsors The New England Patriots Foundation and PepsiCo. On November 15, 2023, at the Optum Field Lounge at Gillette Stadium, our guests of honor, 26 moms and or moms-to-be were the spouses or partners of active duty or deployed members of local military bases, or in some cases, are active-duty military members themselves. The lovely, Tamara Brown, team reporter for the New England Patriots, served as the event’s guest host and emcee.
“For women who are expecting a baby and whose spouses are deployed, and especially for expectant moms who are active duty themselves, the impending arrival of a child can be both exciting and stressful,” said Operation Shower Founder and Chief Shower Officer LeAnn Morrissey. “Operation Shower was created because typically military moms are the ones who hold it all together at home. These moms deserve our support, our appreciation, and an opportunity to celebrate this wonderful milestone together.”
Presented by PepsiCo and the Patriots Foundation, the “Sea of Love”-themed event will include a catered lunch, raffles, and contests with prizes, and the highlight of the event, the distribution of Operation Shower’s signature Showers In A Box – gifts of high-quality products for mothers and babies that have been donated by generous companies including Tiny Tags, Diaper Genie, Delta Children, PepsiCo, Women In Law Enforcement from the New England State Police Administrators Conference and the New England Patriots Foundation. Beyond the array of tangible items the moms will receive, the most treasured gift of all may be the shared camaraderie with other military moms-to-be.
A big thank you to @sweetnessandhoney for the incredible cake, @MamaBarbasBakeShop for the adorable sugar cookies, and @ThePrincessBaker for the sweetest chocolate-covered cookies and crispy treats.
Speaking of treats, some of The New England Patriot players joined our celebration and thanked our moms for their service. So thoughtful and it meant so much to these families.
“PepsiCo has a long legacy of supporting America’s military families, and we are delighted to join with Operation Shower and the New England Patriots Foundation for the fifth year in a row to show our tremendous appreciation to all of the amazing moms being honored at this special shower,” said PepsiCo Global Integration Manager for E-Commerce Dan Luby. “In the military, families serve too. Their resilience, courage and patriotism are immeasurable, and our nation owes them an enormous debt of gratitude.”
“The military has always been very important to my family, and we take great pride in celebrating our military members and their families,” said Josh Kraft, president of the New England Patriots Foundation. “Raising a family while balancing multiple moves and deployments is challenging. By hosting this event, we are hoping to be able to relieve some of the stress and provide these growing families with essential items. We thank our great partners at PepsiCo for their shared commitment to military families and for their support of this event.”
What a beautiful group shower this was. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
