On October 11, 2022, PepsiCo, Operation Shower and the Colorado Springs Switchbacks Football Club came together to host a group baby shower for 32 military moms and moms-to-be. The moms were the spouses of active duty or deployed members of local military bases, or in some cases, were active duty themselves.
The colorful “Woodland Wonders”-themed event was the sixth shower in Colorado conducted by Operation Shower with presenting sponsor PepsiCo and the first with the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. In addition to a catered lunch, each of the honored moms-to-be received Operation Shower’s signature ‘Shower in A Box’ – a gift package of high-quality products generously donated by organizations and individuals including PepsiCo, 4moms, Stella & Dot, and Delta Children.
KOAA News 5 morning anchor Brie Groves cheerfully served as the event’s emcee. Special guest, strategic communications specialist Blaire Brush with the United States Air Force Academy, spoke about life as a military spouse and how to find support and a community on base.
“PepsiCo has a long legacy of supporting America’s military families and hiring veterans across both our business and the communities we serve including through our employee resource group, PepsiCo Valor, which supports veterans within PepsiCo and beyond across the country,” said Shawn Early, Senior GM Market Director of Colorado/New Mexico/West Texas, PepsiCo. “We are delighted to join with Operation Shower and the Colorado Switchbacks to express our tremendous gratitude to military families for everything they do in service to our country.”
