For the first time since 2020, we were back in Arizona on February 7th, with our traditional in-person, elaborately designed baby shower at the Patriots’ Outpost located on the course at the WM Phoenix Open in Scottsdale. During the “Worth the Wait” – themed baby shower, 32 military moms and moms-to-be from local military bases and their guests heard from guest speakers, played games, and were showered with gifts. Arizona Family’s Olivia Fierro emceed the event, and families were treated to words of encouragement by a special guest military speaker.
Moms and guests were treated to a mouth-watering catered lunch by M Culinary Concepts and delicious and beautiful desserts from Inspired Sugar. Once tables were cleared, each mom received Operation Shower’s signature Shower In A Box and an array of unique, high-quality products and gift items for mothers and babies. Donors supporting the cause were WM, 4moms, Discover, and Mud Pie to name a few. The gifts didn’t stop there, each mom was escorted to a pop-up Kendra Scott Color Bar where she was invited to create a customized piece of jewelry on the spot. Every mom loved showing off their new treasures!
PRO EM the WM Phoenix Open, The Thunderbirds, M Culinary Concepts, and Birdies for the Brave provided support for the shower. “We’re looking forward to extending our appreciation to these strong and ambitious moms-to-be,” said 2023 WM Phoenix Open Tournament Chairman Pat Williams. “Operation Shower is a tremendous opportunity to support local military families and give thanks for everything they do behind the scenes or on the front lines in service to our country. Bringing this special event back in person is the perfect way to celebrate these amazing women.”

From the volunteers and staff to the vendors and sponsors we heard “this is our favorite day of the year” more than once. This in-person shower was definitely worth the wait!
