Less than a week after our Utah “Adventure Awaits” shower with presenting sponsor Discover, Operation Shower and Discover were once again bringing sunshine to the lives of military families – this time in Arizona. Discover presented a “You Are My Sunshine” themed group baby shower for 27 expectant military moms at Foothills Golf Club in Phoenix on October 17, 2023. All of the moms are the spouses or partners of deployed military members from area bases, or in some cases, are active-duty military members themselves.
“You Are My Sunshine” was the theme of this shower and featured a catered brunch, raffle prizes, and the highlight of the event, the distribution of Operation Shower’s signature “Showers In A Box”— gifts of high-quality products for mothers and babies that have been generously donated by companies and individuals including Discover, Stella & Dot, Delta Children, Dr. Brown’s, and Diaper Genie.
“Discover volunteers look forward to this event as a way to give back to our local military community and demonstrate the importance of getting involved in the area where they live and work,” said Tracy Hedrick, vice president of operations at Discover.
