Once Upon A Time (November 18th, 2021 to be exact) in Kansas City, Missouri, the Chiefs Women’s Organization and presenting partner GEHA teamed up with Operation Shower to host a “Fairytale Kingdom” themed group baby shower for military moms and moms-to-be. All of the moms were either active duty themselves or the spouse of a deployed or active duty service member from area bases. This shower marks the CWO’s fourth year partnering with Operation Shower.
The Chiefs Women’s Organization (CWO) includes wives and significant others of Kansas City Chiefs players, coaches, and business staff committed to positively impacting the Kansas City community through volunteerism. The CWO joins local charities, sponsors, and players to carry on the Chiefs tradition of unparalleled service in the region.
The presenting sponsor of the afternoon is Government Employees Health Association. GEHA (pronounced GEHA) is a nationwide, not-for-profit provider of medical and dental plans for federal employees. Based in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, GEHA is proud to empower more than two million active and retired federal employees, retired military members, and their families to be healthy and well, through access to quality, affordable health care. Established in 1937, GEHA employs nearly 1,400 people in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
A magical venue, Arrowhead Stadium, set the stage for the room that was decorated like a beautifully illustrated fairytale. Moms were treated to an afternoon that included lunch, activities, and the distribution of Operation Shower’s “Shower In A Box” – gifts of high-quality products for mothers and babies. And, what would any good fairy tale be without twists and turns, surprises and a happy ending? This shower had all of those things and more for our military moms!

The safety of the moms is our guiding focus at Operation Shower as we work to honor these deserving families. Operation Shower follows strict covid-19 safety measures for any of its showers, and they can be found here.
For the health and safety of all moms and guests, all shower attendees were vaccinated and/or tested prior to the event, and masking was encouraged while onsite.
