PepsiCo, the Dallas Cowboys, and OptumServe celebrated 20 military moms and moms-to-be on Saturday, November 6, 2021, with an Operation Shower® group baby shower at the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The moms were either the spouses of active duty or deployed members of local military bases or active duty themselves.
“As a veteran and military mom, I can attest to the strength, perseverance, and pride of our military. Those who serve and those who support our service members are owed a debt of gratitude from a grateful nation,” said LTG (Ret.) Patricia D. Horoho, CEO of OptumServe.
Our “A Star is Born” themed shower included a beautifully catered lunch along with raffle prizes and games for moms to enjoy. A highlight was when special guest, Ezekiel Elliott, stopped by to present custom 21 jersey to each mom. Wait! That’s not all! Our amazing volunteers distributed Operation Shower’s signature Showers In A Box to each and every mom. These boxes were filled with gifts of high-quality products for mothers and babies that have been donated by generous companies, including PepsiCo, Evenflo, OptumServe, and the Dallas Cowboys.
The first gift for each mom was a gift from Diamonds Direct and, at the end of the shower, moms got to experience a pop up shopping experience from Kendra Scott to end the day as it began…with something for themselves!
Beyond the array of tangible items the moms will receive, the most treasured gift of all is the opportunity for the moms to share camaraderie with other women in the same situation.
“Moms are already some of the strongest individuals, but when you add the layer of service to our country to the role, it takes a special individual to handle the additional load. These women are to be honored for their sacrifices,” said Charlotte Jones, Dallas Cowboys executive vice president and chief brand officer.
“It’s a privilege for the chance to recognize the resilience, strength, courage, and patriotism of these women and thank them for the immeasurable sacrifices they make, whether they are on the front lines or keeping everything running smoothly at home so their loved ones can serve overseas,” said PepsiCo Global Integration Manager for E-Commerce Dan Luby.
The stars truly aligned when PepsiCo, the Dallas Cowboys, and OptumServe teamed up with Operation Shower this year. It fills us with joy to express our gratitude to these amazing women who sacrifice so much in service to our country alongside such amazing sponsors.
The safety of the moms is our guiding focus at Operation Shower as we work to honor these deserving families. Operation Shower is following strict covid-19 safety measures for any of its showers. They can be found here.
