The New England Patriots Foundation and PepsiCo blasted off with Operation Shower® to host an out-of-this-world group baby shower honoring 25 military moms and moms-to-be on Tuesday, November 2, 2021! These spouses of active duty or deployed members and active duty moms to be were treated to a galaxy of fun. The shower was held in the Optum Field Lounge at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. The lovely and talented news anchor, Anaridis Rodriguez from WBZ-TV and CBSN Boston, served as guest host. Special guests Robert and Josh Kraft were also there to share how much they appreciate the sacrifices of military families.
“For women who are expecting a baby and whose spouses are deployed, and especially for expectant moms who are active duty, the impending arrival of a child can be both exciting and stressful,” said Operation Shower Founder and Chief Shower Officer LeAnn Morrissey. “Operation Shower was created because, typically, military moms are the ones who hold it all together at home. These moms deserve our support, our appreciation, and an opportunity to celebrate this wonderful milestone together.”
The “Out Of This World” themed event featured a catered lunch, raffle prizes, and games. The highlight of the event was the distribution of Operation Shower’s signature Showers In A Box – gifts of high-quality products for mothers and babies donated by generous companies including Evenflo, Skip Hop, Playtex Baby, Stella and Dot, and Mary Meyer. PepsiCo also presented each mom with a gift box. Beyond the array of tangible items the moms received, the most treasured gift of all may be the opportunity for the moms to share camaraderie with other women in similar circumstances.
Operation Shower was elated to join with the New England Patriots Foundation and PepsiCo to spread joy in person and express our gratitude to these incredible moms and moms-to-be, who sacrifice so much in service to our country.
